It Goes Bump In The Night

The stillness of night is broken by the soft squeak of the bedroom door opening. "Mommy?" The little girl calls out.
There is a rustling of sheets in the darkness. "What is it, pumpkin?" The mother calls out in a slightly irritated tone.
"There's a monster outside my room." The girl pouts. "I'm scared, can I sleep in your bed?"
Exhausted and barely coherent, the mother sits up. "Honey, there are no monsters out there."
"But I see it, there's a bright light, it's coming to get me" The girl clutches her teddy bear and begins to shiver with fright.
Glancing over at her alarm clock, realizing she has to be up in four hours, the mother crawls out of bed and gently picks up her daughter, walking down the creaky hardwood floors of the hallway to the girl's room. Bravely pulling the curtains aside, she motions out the window. "See? There's nothing there." She turns to look. "It's just our backyard floodlight and some guy with a tripod in the neighbors yard taking pictures of our house..." There's a sudden pause, as the mother's head snaps up through the fatigue and grogginess of the midnight. "Wait a second..."

Taken on my Canon PowerShot G3, 15 second exposure with an aperture of 3.0. Resubmitted after making a few minor tweaks in Photoshop. Comments are always welcome.
