The Scajaquada Creek (scuh-jack-wah-duh) originates in Lancaster, New York and flows 14 miles west through the center of the Buffalo metropolitan area before ending at the Niagara River. Much of the creek has been diverted into underground tunnels through the densest parts of the central city, but the creek opens up in a small ravine that divides the park-like Forest Lawn Cemetery in the middle of the city. Standing in this spot, the rabble of the city and the hundreds of thousands of people seem to vanish and all that you're left with is nature. The river is crossed at multiple points by beautiful stone arch bridges, pictured in the distance. Comments are always welcome.
